The peak severe weather season runs April through June, with a secondary peak from September through November.
On December 31, 2010, an EF1 tornado tracked through the Bruner area of Christian County, east of Clever. The NWS survey team confirmed wind speeds of 80 to 105 miles per hour. One-inch hail was recorded in Nixa during the same storm system. These events are documented in the NOAA Storm Events Database. If your roof was installed before 2011, it has been through that storm and every one since.
The open terrain around Clever makes wind the primary concern. Wind-driven rain finds every weak point in a roof. The most common entry points are chimney flashings, plumbing vent boots, and the edges where shingles meet a wall.
