Roof Repair and Replacement in Rogers, AR
Railroad town since 1881. First Walmart since 1962. Brick downtown buildings from the 1880s and subdivisions spreading south and west. We roof both sides of Rogers.
A Brick Downtown from 1885
Rogers exists because of a railroad. The first St. Louis–San Francisco Railway train arrived on May 10, 1881, and the town was platted around the depot. The city was named for Captain Charles Warrington Rogers, the railroad's general manager. By the mid-1880s, brick commercial buildings lined the streets around the square. The Rogers Commercial Historic District still holds buildings constructed between 1885 and 1912, connected by brick-paved streets that have survived because no one had a reason to tear them up.
That same downtown square became famous for a different reason on July 2, 1962, when Sam Walton opened the world's first Walmart at 719 W. Walnut Street. The Daisy outdoor products company moved its airgun manufacturing to Rogers in 1958, and the Daisy Airgun Museum now sits in an 1896 building at 2nd and Walnut, it relocated there on October 25, 2004. These are real pieces of American commercial history, and the buildings that house them have roofing demands that a suburban production crew is not equipped to handle.
We have been roofing across Northwest Arkansas for over 25 years, established in 1998. Our primary office is at 15170 U.S. 62, Garfield, AR 72732, about 15 minutes from downtown Rogers. Our crews work in Rogers every week, on old commercial buildings and new residential subdivisions alike.
Low-Slope Roofs on Historic Commercial Buildings
The brick buildings in and around the Rogers square share a common design: tall street-facing façades with flat or near-flat roofs behind them. These low-slope roofs are invisible from the street, which is why they get ignored until water comes through the ceiling. The original roofing on most of them was built-up tar and gravel, applied in layers. That material has a finite life. After 20 to 30 years of UV exposure and thermal cycling, the membrane cracks, seams open, and water pools in low spots.
Replacing a low-slope commercial roof in the historic district is different from shingling a house. The substrate may be old wood decking with inconsistent thickness. Drainage slopes may need to be rebuilt with tapered insulation. HVAC units, vents, and parapets create penetrations that each need custom flashing. We install TPO and modified bitumen on commercial buildings in Rogers and have the equipment and crew size to handle multi-day commercial tear-offs without disrupting street-level businesses more than necessary.
If you own or manage a commercial building downtown and the roof has not been inspected in five years, that is too long. Flat roofs fail quietly. By the time you see a ceiling stain, the decking underneath may already be rotting.
The Subdivisions West and South
Rogers grew fast after Walmart's headquarters moved to nearby Bentonville. Subdivisions filled the land west of I-49 and south toward the Pinnacle Hills area through the 1990s and 2000s. Most of these homes were built on slab foundations with standard truss framing, OSB decking, and builder-grade three-tab shingles. The roofs were competent when installed. Many are now 20 to 30 years old, and the original shingles are past their rated life.
A three-tab shingle rated for 25 years in a test lab does not always last 25 years in Northwest Arkansas. High summer heat, spring hailstorms, and temperature swings between 95°F days and 55°F nights stress the asphalt mat. Granule loss accelerates. Shingles curl at the edges. Nail pops appear. If you are in a subdivision built between 1995 and 2005, your roof is in the replacement window right now.
We replace builder-grade three-tab roofs with architectural shingles: Owens Corning Duration or CertainTeed Landmark. The dimensional profile looks better, the wind rating is higher, and the warranty is longer. On a typical 2,000-square-foot ranch in a Rogers subdivision, a full tear-off and reroof takes one to two days. We carry a transferable lifetime workmanship warranty on every roof we install, so the coverage follows the house if you sell.
Where We Work in Rogers
Downtown Rogers
The blocks around the square and the commercial historic district. Roof work here involves a mix of low-slope commercial buildings and older residential homes on narrow lots. Staging is tight, and material delivery takes coordination with on-street parking.
Pinnacle Hills
The master-planned area south of Pauline Whitaker Parkway, developed primarily in the 2000s. Homes are larger here, 2,500 to 4,000 square feet, with complex rooflines, multiple valleys, and steeper pitches than the older subdivisions. First-generation roofs in this area are now reaching 15 to 20 years and beginning to show hail damage accumulation.
Pleasant Grove
A rural community on the western edge of Rogers, with older homes on larger lots. Roof access is easier here than downtown, but the homes are older and the decking often needs evaluation before new shingles go on.
New Hope
Southeast of town along Highway 94. A mix of established ranch homes from the 1970s and 1980s and newer construction. The older homes in this area are candidates for full tear-off, many have two layers of shingles already, and a third layer is not something we will install.
Beaver Lake Area
The neighborhoods and lakefront properties east of Rogers along Beaver Lake. Humidity from the lake, heavy tree canopy, and limited air circulation create conditions that promote moss and algae on north-facing roof slopes. These roofs need algae-resistant shingles and proper attic ventilation to avoid premature failure.
Champions Drive
A newer residential area with homes built from the mid-2000s forward. Construction quality is generally good, but builder-installed shingles in this era were often the minimum spec allowed by code. Upgrading to a higher-wind-rated architectural shingle makes sense when the original roof reaches end of life.
Dixieland
One of Rogers' older residential neighborhoods near the original town core. Homes here date from the early to mid-1900s, with steep-pitch gable roofs and wood-frame construction. We strip to the deck on every job in Dixieland because the only way to know what is underneath is to look.
Monte Ne
The area east of Rogers near the site of William Hope Harvey's early-1900s resort community, now partially submerged under Beaver Lake. Homes here range from 1960s lake cabins to modern builds. Terrain is hilly, lots are wooded, and roof access can require extra setup. We bring the right equipment for the terrain.
April 2026 Hail on South Rogers
On April 28, 2026, very large hail hit southern Rogers directly. Subdivisions in the Pinnacle Hills area and south along I-49 took the worst of it. Hail of that size does not just damage shingles, it dents metal flashing, cracks vinyl siding, and can fracture skylights and ridge vents. A roof that looked fine from the ground may have dozens of impact points only visible from on top.
This was not the first time. In April 2011, golf-ball to baseball-sized hail crossed Benton County, damaging roofs from Bentonville to Rogers and east toward Beaver Lake. Northwest Arkansas sits in a geographic zone where warm Gulf moisture collides with cold fronts dropping out of Oklahoma and Kansas. Spring hailstorms are not a matter of if, they are a matter of when.
After a hail event, we inspect your roof and document everything with photos and measurements. We work with your insurance adjuster directly. We do not inflate scope or add line items for work that is not needed. You get a written report showing what was damaged, what should be replaced, and what can stay. If your roof has five years of life left and the hail only hit a few shingles, we will tell you that.
Impact-resistant Class 4 shingles, Owens Corning Duration FLEX, CertainTeed NorthGate, are designed to absorb hail impact without cracking. They cost more up front, but they reduce future damage and may qualify for an insurance premium discount. If you are filing a claim after the April 2026 storm, ask us about upgrading to Class 4 as part of the replacement.
